Best Selling Cd's For The Week Ending 16 October 2005
What is up. Abbalicious, I mean, Mamma Mia! was in town, so we sold a few Abba titles, as well as the Mamma Mia cast recording last week. No doubt it got a standing ovation from the Morrison Center crowd, because they give a standing O to everything that crosses that stage. I suppose if I spent 100 bucks for some off Broadway touring company production I would probably want to pretend I got my moneys worth…..dios malos were in store yesterday, and played an instore concert for an appreciative crowd. They were really good, and we rolled some product out the door for them. If you haven’t heard them, beg or borrow a copy from someone, especially if you are prone to like vaguely Radioheadish pop, with a little Ben Folds and post shoegaze pop thrown in……..The staff is nuts about the new My Morning Jacket cd, and have been giving it much love in the store. Justin P. says that it has one of his top ten R&R screams on it. Great songwriting this time, honestly, I never heard it before, but I’m hearing this new one in a big way….A couple of cuts on that new Lucero are real asskickers, and I mean that in the most complimentary ways. They are playing next door tonight, and I am going to miss it thanks to a prior engagement….I don’t think Death Cab are going away anytime soon….And that is all for this week.
